BOTOX® Cosmetic and Injectable Fillers

Restoring Your Skin's Youthful Radiance – Reducing Fine Lines and Wrinkles

As the skin ages, collagen and elastin production begins to slow down, and the years of sun and environmental damage start to catch up. Hormones, genetics, and habitual facial expressions also contribute to the deepening of creases and crow's feet. When fine lines and wrinkles develop across the forehead, eye, nose, and mouth areas, one solution for restoring youthful elasticity and luminosity to your skin is through BOTOX® Cosmetic, Restylane®, or other injectable dermal fillers.

At The Center For Advanced Skin Care, Dr. Lawrence Samuels is an expert in performing a full range of aesthetic facial enhancements, including:

BOTOX® Cosmetic

Made of a purified protein, BOTOX® Cosmetic is one of the most popular injectable materials to reduce crows feet, forehead lines, and glabellar lines; in 2005 alone, there were more than three million BOTOX® Cosmetic procedures performed. Non-surgical and virtually pain-free, BOTOX® treatment diminishes the appearance of lines, creases, and wrinkles in just a few minutes with a few tiny injections.

BOTOX® Cosmetic works by preventing the transmission of nerve impulses to the muscles that are causing the wrinkles. As the muscles relax, so does the skin around them, resulting in a smoother, more youthful appearance. The results of the brief injection treatment are noticeable within days, and can last for up to four months.

If you are ready to enhance your facial appearance with BOTOX® Cosmetic injections, please contact us today to schedule a complimentary consultation with Dr. Samuels.

Restylane®/Captique™/Hylaform®/JUVÉDERM™

Within the connective tissue (collagen layer/dermis) of the body is a natural substance called hyaluronic acid; its job is to lubricate and cushion the tissue. And because it is a hydrophilic substance (it loves water and moisture), hyaluronic acid also gives the skin volume.

Restylane®, Captique™, and JUVÉDERM™ are derived from non-animal hyaluronic acid, and are fully biocompatible. By using the body's own moisture, these products fill out lines and wrinkles on the face, leaving the skin looking younger, fuller, and softer. The incredible effects of these injections can last for four to six months.

CosmoDerm™/CosmoPlast™

Produced from natural human collagen, CosmoDerm™ and CosmoPlast™ are a breakthrough in facial rejuvenation treatments. CosmoDerm™ is recommended for correcting fine lines; CosmoPlast™ is excellent for deeper wrinkles and furrows. Because the collagen used in CosmoDerm™ and CosmoPlast™ injections comes from real human collagen developed in a controlled laboratory, there is no risk of an allergic reaction to treatment.

No possible allergic reaction means no time is lost taking a skin test and waiting for results. The cosmetic effects are immediate, and patients experience no down time. What's more, the injections are formulated with an anesthetic called lidocaine, which makes the procedure more comfortable than ever before.

Schedule your own CosmoDerm™ or CosmoPlast™ injections by contacting The Center For Advanced Skin Care in St. Louis.

Zyderm®/Zyplast®

For almost 20 years, Zyderm® and Zyplast® collagen implants have set the standard in facial rejuvenation and dermal fillers. Produced from purified bovine dermal collagen and combined with anesthetizing lidocaine, the implants are safe and effective.

Zyderm® implants are used to treat fine and moderate lines, shallow scars, wrinkles, and thin-skinned areas of the face. Zyplast® implants on the other hand, are generally used for more pronounced lines, wrinkles, and scars, as well as in areas where the skin is slightly thicker.

Before receiving Zyderm® or Zyplast® implants, it is necessary to perform a collagen allergy test; however, approximately 97 percent of people do not have any collagen-related reactions or complications. The results of collagen implants are visible almost immediately, with little or no downtime, and they last from three to six months.

To learn more about the benefits and results of Zyderm® and Zyplast®, please contact our cosmetic dermatologist, Dr. Lawrence Samuels, today.

Sculptra™

Sculptra™ is the first dermal filler to be approved by the FDA for use in patients with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), and it is extremely effective in correcting facial fat loss (lipoatrophy). Made of poly-L-lactic acid, Sculptra™ is a biocompatible, biodegradable synthetic dermal filler. It does not require an allergy test, and the restorative results can last for up to two years.

If you are interested in Sculptra™ injections, please contact Dr. Samuels to schedule a complimentary consultation.
